Cafecito Blend: A Symphony of Flavor and Craftsmanship

The Cafecito Blend, crafted exclusively for us by local coffee artisan Tom Patton from Odd Box Coffee Roasters (OBCR). This exceptional blend embodies our dedication to delivering extraordinary coffee experiences to our cherished community.

A Blend Born From Meticulous Sourcing

The beans in the Cafecito Blend are carefully sourced from a father-and-son farm in Costa Rica and small farms in Ethiopia, where they are grown alongside other produce. With enchanting notes of jasmine tea, citrus, and cocoa, this blend promises a sensory journey that transports coffee lovers to distant lands with every sip.

"We are thrilled to introduce the Cafecito Blend to our community," says Matthew, General Manager of Cafecito Santa Fe. "This collaboration with Tom from Odd Box exemplifies our shared dedication to quality and craftsmanship, and we can't wait to share this exceptional coffee with our patrons."

A Collaboration Rooted in Passion and Expertise

Tom, the mastermind behind OBCR, offers insight into the creation process: "My sourcing practices prioritize freshness and traceability, ensuring that each coffee bean meets the highest standards of quality. Working closely with the Cafecito team, we conducted several tastings to refine the blend, resulting in a light roast blend of washed Ethiopian and natural Costa Rican coffees. It's truly a delicious blend that I'm proud to stand behind."

Matthew emphasizes the importance of local partnerships: "Local business collaborations are at the core of our ethos at Cafecito. Tom roasts his coffee just over a mile away, and this collaboration underscores our commitment to supporting and showcasing local talent."

The Origins of Cafecito Blend

The Cafecito Blend sources its beans from two countries, Costa Rica and Ethiopia. In Ethiopia, the coffee beans are sourced from the Halo Beriti washing station within the Gedeb, Yirgacheffe region. In Costa Rica, the beans come from the Don Sabino micromill, a small, family-run operation producing coffee since 2011.

An Artful Blend Crafted with Precision

The decision to select the beans for the Cafecito Blend was a collaborative effort between the Cafecito team and OBCR. We initially explored darker roasted coffees from Brazil but ultimately settled on two lighter roasts from Ethiopia and Costa Rica. This combination offered a compelling and sweeter cup, enhancing the overall flavor profile of the blend.

A Symphony of Flavors

The Ethiopian beans, processed through the "washed" method, bring out higher acidity and crisp, citrusy flavors with hints of jasmine and stone fruit. The Costa Rican beans, processed naturally, yield wild, fruity flavors with chocolate undertones. Together, these beans harmonize to create a blend with clear citrus and chocolate notes, coupled with stone fruit reminiscent of plum.

The Cafecito Blend: A Standout Experience

The Cafecito Blend distinguishes itself with a fruit-forward profile while maintaining balance and approachability. Its unique flavor profile is set to spark interest among coffee enthusiasts, offering a delightful sensory experience unlike any other available in the market.

As we unveil the Cafecito Blend, we invite our community to embark on this journey of flavor and discovery. Whether you're a seasoned coffee aficionado or just beginning your coffee exploration, we're excited to share this remarkable blend with you.
